Welcome to UU Honolulu Joyful Sound:  The Web page.

Music nourishes the soul.  Our mission is to inspire, energize to action and support our community through music.

We have an awesome group of musicians to accomplish our mission. They are  Dennis Graue, piano, Julian Showkier, cornet, Pierre Klieber, guitar, Ian Valasek, bass, William Coursey,  drums,  and  a band of singers all led by vocalist and music director Karen Valasek.

We welcome more from our community  to come and participate as well.  Regular guest string players Harley Eblen, cello, and Kevin Craven, violin, have added so much.  I extend an open invitation for more to come join us in singing and instrument play. With this great band we are able to provide music that inspires from many genres and many sources.  We are The UU Honolulu Joyful Sound!

There are some exciting opportunities coming up for special participation.  Dec 20th at 10:15am  and Dec 24th at 6:00pm we are putting  on a Unitarian Christmas Pagent called Would You Like to Hold the Baby, an intergenerational service that has lots of singing and music making. Come join us!  Check out the flyer below for rehearsal dates and times. There is also a sample of the songs we will be performing.
