Unitarian Universalist Religious Education
REFLECTIONS ON WATER: Our Fall Religious Education program begin This Sunday, September 5, at 10:15 a.m. at Kailua Beach Park, with the Unitarian Universalist Water Ceremony/Celebration. Each person, [yes, each one] is asked to bring to this service a small amount of water from a special place. The place can be your very own kitchen sink, somewhere that you have visited, rainwater from the roof of your grandmother’s house in Texas. Please talk with your family about what each one will bring. You are asked to contribute this water, actual or virtual, to a bowl of our common experiences. There will be ‘extra’ water available. Please join us for the service, and a shared picnic following the service.
On Sunday, September 12, the First through Sixth Graders will begin their adventures with Environmental Stewardship and Water Justice. High School students will meet with their advisors to plot and plan their fall program.
After the MORNING church service on September 12, the Ministerial Search Committee is sponsoring a workshop called Beyond Categorical Thinking. Youth and adults are invited to attend, and there will be child care for younger children during this program!
Our Whole Lives for Kindergarten and First Graders and their parents! That’s right, OWL for little ones. This very special human sexuality education program focuses on bodies and how they work, and on how families are formed. Parent orientation for this program will be on Sunday, September 19, after church. Child care will be available. Please RSVP to NAN ASAP if YOU and your family will be participating in this super program. Registration forms and program descriptions are available from Nan at church. And if you know others who might be interested, please get the information for them! THANKS.
